An Update On My Soccer Posts and A Guest Post About Fuerteventura!

Fuerteventura Coastline Picture

Well I have obviously not even touched my second soccer post since writing the first one.  I definitely underestimated how much I would not want to work on things once spring break hit.  So I have been in Oklahoma City with some friends avoiding doing things like the plague!  But now I just got back so I am going to try and crank out part two ASAP.

For now, enjoy a new Guest post by Cath about the second largest Canary Island, Fuerteventura.

Fabulous Fuerteventura

By: Cath

When it comes to gorgeous beach breaks, there are plenty of gorgeous destinations to tickle your fancy. There’s the dreamy shores of the Caribbean with its rustling palms and coconut shells, the porcelain-white sands of the Maldives, the dramatic scenery and honey-coloured cliffs of the Algarve, or the lovely, bubbly beach resorts of Malta.

One knock-out beach destination that never fails to impress is lovely Fuerteventura, and it’s not hard to see why.

Boasting long swathes of soft golden sands that melt into turquoise seas, Fuerteventura is the ultimate beach paradise. Thanks to its location just off the West coast of Africa, this scorching island enjoys sizzling summer temperatures and a fabulous year-round climate that ensures warm t-shirt weather during the winter too. The soaring summer temperatures are cooled by strong coastal breezes that not only take the edge off the African heat, but provide plenty of watersports fun too.

The resort of Costa Caleta is a great spot for families, providing a pleasant horseshoe-shaped bay that’s sheltered by breakwaters, providing a quiet spot for families and little paddling feet. Jandia provides a more lively environment with wide sandy beaches, while bustling Corralejo is all about watersports and plenty of active fun.

For those on a budget, you’ll find plenty of low cost holidays in Fuerteventura that won’t break the bank. Take a look at the package holiday tour operators’ websites – such as Thomas Cook – and search for late deals on holidays departing within the next few weeks for some of the best cut-price discounts. Or look into low-cost flights to the island’s El Matorral Airport and find your own choice of hotel for a wonderfully flexible, do-it-yourself style of holiday.

Whether you choose hassle-free Thomas Cook package holidays or go your own way with a DIY break, Fuerteventura is a fabulous holiday destination that’s well worth a visit at any time of year.
